Balloons

Saturday evening we went to Grove City for the Balloon Glow at Dusk. It was held at Beulah Park. Scott saw an advertisement for it last week so we thought we would check it out. We really didn't know too much about it. What we thought we were going to was all wrong. First, we had no idea it was such a huge event. There were thousands in attendance. They had a live band, a Beatles cover band that was pretty good, actually. Second, we had no idea that Beulah Park was a race track. We thought that it was a park with play equipment and picnic tables. Third we had no idea that it was a balloon launch that was going to be at dusk (hence the name). We got to the park way to early. There was at least two hours to go before dusk. We thought it would be just a bunch of hot air balloons filling up and taking of whenever. Well it was too windy for the balloons to go up in the air and fly. We did get to see them fill up and go a few feet up but nothing spectacular. After seeing four balloons we decided to call it a night and try to beat the crowd to the parking lot. There were at least another four or five more balloons that were setting up to fill but we wanted to go get some ice cream. We went to Dairy Queen and enjoyed some yummy treats. The kids were exhausted. After a bath and books both kids slept all night long.

We almost went but Carter was a little under the weather yesterday morning. Now I'm glad we didn't make it! At least the DQ looked good!

It has always been called "Balloons Off Broadway" because the event was held right off Broadway, in the middle of town! We went last year and it was awesome! We would have been there this year too except we were out of town. Did they have the huge inflatables?
