ZOO

Last week we went to the zoo. It was such a beautiful day we couldn't keep Grisham cooped up inside and Scott was on vacation. We tried to take every opportunity to do things as a family. So we went out to enjoy the warm weather. Scott's dad is a great photographer. He took some pictures of us and the animals. Grisham's favorite place at the zoo is the petting zoo or the aquarium. Genevieve slept through it all. She would have enjoyed it if she was a little older:)

So sweet

Grisham asked to hold his sister for the first time today. I was sitting in the rocker with Genevieve and Grisham came up to us and gave her a kiss and a hug. I asked him if he wanted to hold her and he stuck his arms straight out and smiled and said please. He sat on the couch like a big boy and held her in his lap. We took the opportunity to get a family picture taken. What a wonderful moment this was.

GENEVIEVE!!!

Thank you all friends and family for being patient with me. I know you are all anxious to see pics of our sweet little girl. I have been enjoying these last few days bonding with my daughter. Now that I have both kids asleep, I can post a few pictures. I am still in total disbelief that I had a baby seven days ago. I feel great and I have to remind myself to take it easy. Scott's parents are still in town so they have been a huge help with Grisham. My parents left Wednesday morning. I miss you both so much. Thanks for being here for me and my family. Words can not express my gratitude. Genevieve has been a perfect little baby. She eats and sleeps. Nights are not too bad. She will sleep about four hours and have an hour of wakefulness and go back to sleep. Grisham is indifferent towards his little sister. He acknowledges her every now and then but refuses to hold or sit next to her. He has had a rough week. His whole world has been turned up side down and he is not sure how to react. Every day gets a little better. Things should settle down once we are able to establish a new routine. I am completely in love with my new family. The love that I feel for Scott, Grisham and Genevieve is overwhelming. God has truly blessed me.

Playtime

Today is the last day that I will have one child. Grisham and I spent this morning with Mary and the kids. We went to Grove City Church of the Nazarene to play in their maga structure. The boys stayed firmly on the ground though. Grisham is a little small to climb in the tunnels and Greg is scared of heights. Grisham did climb into the shoot hoops basketball game. He thought it was very funny. Boy, did they have fun wrestling each other. They had a blast taking turns chasing one another. Mary and I had a great talk and enjoyed watching the boys have fun. Leah, such a sweetheart, is doing such a great job crawling. She crawled over to me for some lovin. She is soooo sweet. After playing we decided to take the kids to McDonalds for lunch. This was Grisham's first Happy Meal. He seemed to enjoy it very much, especially the fries. Well, this time tomorrow I will be working hard to add to our family. I am so excited but nervous. Pray that all goes well. Mom and Dad I can't wait to see you tonight. I better get back to cleaning!

It's on, BABY!!!

I had my final doctors appointment this morning. I am dilated to three and 70% effaced. I am scheduled for the induction this Saturday. I am so excited yet nervous too. I just hope and pray that I make it to Saturday. This baby may not be willing to go with the plan. My parents will be here very early Saturday to care for Grisham while Scott and I are at the hospital. I plan to take it easy this week. I have a some cleaning to do but I can do a little bit each day. Sophia is at home with her grandmother and I won't have her back until June. I still have Evan this week but just until Wednesday. His grandparents from Michigan will be here to care for him. You know I was just thinking to myself this morning that this is the last week that I will be a mom of one. It really hit me when Grisham and I were going through our morning routine. He usually gets up around six and then we cuddle in the recliner for an hour. I really enjoy this time that I have with him and starting next week it may be entirely different. We may have to come up with a new routine. It makes me a little sad but I am so excited to have a newborn again.

Busy Weekend

WOW!!! We had such a busy weekend. Saturday we went to the zoo with Eric Knapp and his son Evan. The weather was beautiful. Sunny and warm. A rarity in Columbus. Grisham had so much fun looking at the Gorillas and the fish in the aquarium. We purchased a family membership pass for the year. This way we get free parking and we can get two friends or family members in for free. So if you are planning a trip out here to see us you can bet that we will be going to the zoo. The play group that I go to plans a lot of trips to the zoo so we will definitely get our moneys worth this summer. I am so excited.
Later Saturday we met the Elliott's and the Bigony's downtown for dinner and the Columbus Destroyers game. Dinner was pretty rough. The only restaurant that did not have a two hour wait was not kid friendly and the waitress was not very good. We made it through dinner with only a few mishaps and headed to the game. This was Grisham's first arena football game. He did so well sitting on Daddy's lap. He enjoyed the music and during the half time the local mascots had a relay race. He cheered on the team with daddy and seemed to have a great time. We all had a great time. I was so ready for a busy day like yesterday.
Sunday all we are doing is catching up on cleaning the house and cleaning out the garage. I suppose I am "nesting". I think I am preparing our house more for our family that is coming out to see us rather than the baby. Busy, busy weekend. Gotta love them.
