My Buddy

Grisham and Sophia have become best buds. Sometimes they play together like best friends and then other times they act more like brother and sister who know how to push each others buttons. Today they wanted to take pictures together. Grisham had Sophia sit in his lap and asked "Mommy cheese please" and gave me a goofy smile. Sophia instantly hammed up too.
Genevieve seems to like to grab at Brenner. When I put them on the floor she loves to roll over and grab his ears. So far he doesn't seem to mind the attention. Aren't they cute?

Pumpkins

Yesterday afternoon Grisham, Sophia and I carved a pumpkin. Well, I carved the pumpkin, Sophia watched and Grisham just took a picture with the pumpkin. He really did not find this activity fun at all. I was hoping that carving the pumpkin together would be a nice long activity but he took one look at the guts of the pumpkin and didn't want anything to do with it. All in all the pumpkin was carved and cleaned up in 15 min.
After Scott got home, he decided that we should give it another try. I went out to get another pumpkin so Grisham and Daddy could carve one together. Grisham showed a lot more enthusiasm but once again the guts totally turned him off. Oh well maybe next year he will get into it.

OOPPPSS!!

Well, earlier to day we went to Boo at the Zoo. I have been planning this trip for weeks now and looking forward to it for even longer. I forgot my battery for my camera!!!! I remembered everything except my battery. Earlier today I put it on the charger so we would have plenty of power for all the pictures I was going to take of the kids and I FORGOT THE BATTERY. I am kicking myself in the behind. The kids looked so cute in their costumes and I forgot the battery. I will take even more pictures later this week when we hand out candy for trick or treating. I am soo sooo sooo sorry Mom.

Six Month Appointment

Genevieve had her six month doctors appointment this morning. All went well. She is 16 pounds even and 27 inches long. She is 50% on the grid for her weight and 90% on her height. Yes, she is super long. I just hope she didn't get the super freak tall gene that seems to aimlessly wander on my side of the family. Genevieve got three shots today including her flu shot. In fact I got my flu shot today and Grisham got the flu nose spray. Very cool for the toddlers. Dr. Eilerman says she is doing great so I plan on starting veggies this weekend.

Hangover

No, not that kind of hangover but a migraine hangover. Last night I had one of the worst migraines in the history of Laura migraines. I went out with the ladies to see the movie Fireproof. Side note--- Everyone MUST see this movie. It had such and awesome message and testimony. I think it is my new favorite movie. Anyway, I felt the migraine coming on during the movie. I don't think all the crying I did helped one bit. On the way home it exploded into a monster. As soon as I got home I went straight to the bathroom. For some reason the bathroom is the only place of comfort during a migraine. I think I can protect all my senses there. It can be pitch black, no awful smells, sound to a minimum, a toilet for puking and the cold hard floor is comfortable. Scott wanted me to go to the ER but I refused. I hate going there for migraines. One, I can't control the senses thing. Two, the waiting to get in and out is murder. Three, that's all the ER doctors need is someone else coming in for pain medicine. I did my best to keep my migraine medicine in me and just waited it out on the bathroom floor. I got up this morning pain free but feeling the hangover. I don't feel 100%, tired and shaky. More sleep should be the cure but that can't happen until tonight.

Congratulations

Congratulations Leah and Cody Young on the birth of their third daughter, Aspen. Check out their blog to see beautiful pictures of the new baby and her big sisters.

Brother and Sister

Yet another cute photo opportunity with the kids. I just can't get enough of their goodness. I am sure that they will not always be this sweet towards each other so I can't help but capture it with a picture.

Circle S Farm

Sunday was a great day. We went to church then out to eat with the Elliott's. We ate at good ole Steak and Shake. Sarah, I know you are jealous. After a successful lunch, we went to Circle S Farm to pick out a pumpkin. Scott and I have never been there before but Eric and Mary have. This was a much larger event then I expected. The line to purchase tickets was long but the boys played on the hay and in the dried corn stalks while we waited. Once inside there was much to do. They had animals to pet, all sorts of mazes to explore, a barn full of hay to jump around in, tractors to climb on and a whole lotta picture opportunities to take advantage of. Grisham might be allergic to hay. While in the hay caves he scratched his face on the hay and it turned red and started to swell. It didn't slow him down at all. Finally we did the tractor/hay ride to the pumpkin field to get our pumpkin. Scott and Grisham went way way out into the field to find that perfect pumpkin. Scott carried Grisham on his shoulders because of the burs on the plants. Genevieve and I hung out with Eric and Leah. Leah was feeling sad and wanted her daddy so we talked while Mary and Greg went in search of his perfectly round pumpkin. I guess Greg is particular when it comes to his pumpkin. Funny Boy!!! Finally success. Good thing too, both Leah and Genevieve had reached their limits and wanted to go home. We had a blast with the Elliott's. They have become dear friends to us and I thank God every day that we have been blessed with great friends. The kids were exhausted when we got home early evening and both were asleep around 7. I love busy family weekends like this but the down side is that they go way way too fast. Monday arrives before you know it. Next weekend we plan on going to Boo at the Zoo. That is if the weather is nice.

Melt My Heart

Grisham surprises me every day. Genevieve woke from her nap and Grisham begged me to hold her. He wanted to hug her and kiss her. So sweet.
