She Is Here!!!!

Friday morning I had my last OB appointment. The induction was scheduled for Tuesday the 2nd. All was going well and I decided to mention that I noticed that Carolyn wasn't moving as well as she has been. I just attributed it to lack of room but my Dr. decided to do a non stress test and see what she was doing. I sat hooked up to a monitor and had to push a button every time she moved. Dr. Roncone did not like the results so she decided to have me deliver that day. Wow!! I couldn't believe I was going to meet Carolyn in a few hours. I paged Scott. He was in the middle of a kidney transplant when i called to tell him I was heading to the hospital. He just had to finish with that case, dictate it and then he would meet me at the hospital. Mom was at home with the kids. So I got my stuff, it has been sitting on the kitchen table for over a week and drove to the hospital. I was so nervous yet excited. I have never had a difficult time with labor before but you just never know what could happen. I went to Labor and Delivery, checked in and got to my room. Scott arrived about an hr later. They started the Pitocin, broke my water, gave me an epidural:) and badda boom badda bing she is here!! Four hours of labor went by so fast. I am so thankful for my doctor. She made this pregnancy very enjoyable despite some of the ups and downs. Carolyn was meant to be a January baby. Friday night was a bit rough for us. Not much sleep. Mostly because of the uncomfortable bed. Saturday was a long day of waiting to be discharged. We finally got home a little after nine that night. It was so nice to be home with my family. I look forward to the next few days, getting to know my little one and being around Grisham and Genevieve.

38 Weeks 3 Days....Big Ole Belly

Genevieve's First Haircut

I waved the white flag. Genevieve's hair has been a thorn in my side. It hangs in her eyes and is an absolute mess every morning. So I decided to take her to Cookie Cutter's to have them fix it. The stylist did a wonderful job. She knew exactly what needed to be cut to give her hair cute shape. Genevieve did a great job sitting in the chair. She kept busy with a basket of toys. After the cut we got a picture and certificate for bravely submitting to the scissors of the stylist and meeting the requirements of first haircut. We even got a little baggy of the trimmed hair. All in all it was a great experience.

Oh My!

Oh my!! I went to the doctor this morning. Found out this baby will probably be a January baby and not a February baby. I am dilated to three, effaced 50% and "ripe" as the doctor says. She doesn't expect me to make it another week. Well, if I just don't do any housework or pick up any kids then I might be able to make it. But that is impossible for me so little Carolyn may be making an early appearance. Until then.....

Leah Turns Three!!!!

Saturday the kids and I went to Leah's birthday party. I can't believe she is three. I remember when she came into this world. So small and precious!! The party was held at Build A Bear Workshop at the mall. The store was packed. Not just with party guests but with people shopping. The line was out the door. Each kid got to pick their own bear. Grisham picked the darker bear and Genevieve picked the light tan one. The kids did so well waiting for their turn to have the bear stuffed. Grisham named his bear Brownie, originally it was going to be Scary Bear but I vetoed that one. I named Genevieve's bear Vanilla but Grisham changed it to Princess Bear. After the bears were stuffed the kids gave their bears showers and then dressed them. Grisham picked out a firefighter outfit for his bear and a princess dress for Genevieve's bear. Leah was so tired after making her bear, she fell asleep on grandmas shoulder. Its her party she can sleep if she wants to! After everyone was finished making their bear we went over to Mary sister's house for cupcakes and ice cream. After the yummy yummy cupcakes Leah opened her gifts. She got lots of books, a barbie, new clothes for her bear and a new car!! She was so excited about that car. Grisham had fun pushing her around in the car. I had to remind him so many times to slow down. But I really think Leah was liking it when he went fast. It was a great party and I still can't believe she is three:)
