Bowling
Last Friday night we went bowling with Eric, Mary and the kids. We haven't been bowling since before Grisham was born. It was a lot of fun. Scott is an excellent bowler. I was amazed at his skill. I was not so good. Grisham had a blast bowling with Greg and his cousins. The bumper bowling was hilarious. We all had a great time until Grisham and Greg were wrestling over a ball and Greg fell and split his chin open. Eric and Mary left early to go get Greg's chin patched up. Mary and the kids came over on Tues to play and Greg's chin looked good. He is on the mend.

Haircut and Playing
Grisham got his hair cut this weekend. I was debating on whether to get it done because the curl is so cute. It just gets so messy and looks like bed head all day long so I decided to get it cut. I am always so happy with the job that the ladies do at Cookie Cutter's. Grisham has a fun time playing on the slide and attempting the video games in the waiting area. Then he gets to pick his video and his special seat. He always chooses the fire truck.
Grisham has just recently taken an interest in this Sesame Street barn that my sister got him over a year ago. Now he loves to drive his cars in and out of it. He really does not like to share this toy with Sophia. I am constantly running interference when Grisham is playing with it. Of course when Grisham does not want to play with it neither does Sophia.
Genevieve is in her new swing. My friend Ashli had her baby girl a few weeks early and we had to return the swing to her. Scott went to Once Upon a Child on Sawmill, I know he was crazy, and found a swing for me. It is cute. It has little ducks that hang off of the mobile.

Friends
Wednesday my friend Mary and her kids were able to come over and play. Mary has had such a busy summer. This was the first time we could get together since 4th of July. The kids had a blast playing in the pool. Grisham still will not sit in it but just play on the outside. Leah and Sophia both got in for a while and splashed around. Greg was in, out, in, out. Genevieve enjoyed sleeping in the shade while Mary and I caught up. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Mary as a friend. She is that kind of person that you can be yourself around. We get along swimmingly:) I look forward to our chats.

Reunion
My sister just sent me the pictures of our family reunion in South Dakota. They were taken last month. My grandparents belong to this camp called Hart Ranch. It is a lot of fun. You can either rent cabins or park your RV. We always do the cabin thing. The reunion was planned months before hand but then my grandpa became very sick and had to stay in the hospital. Most of the planned events were changed due to that. We did get together with the extended family for lunch and of course my uncles and cousin Matt( crazy hair guy that can play anything with strings) got out their strings to play some music. I wish some of this talent rubbed of on me. Maybe Grisham will pick it up. He really enjoyed the music. We just sat around talking to my cousin Katie (beautiful model lady) and enjoyed the tunes. I think my favorite picture is of my grandma and all her boys. My dad, twin brother Al, middle brother Ken and baby brother Rick. I just wish grandpa was with us. We went up to Sturgis later that day to visit grandpa at the hospital. He looked really good. He got to meet Genevieve for the first time. We had birthday cake for grandma, it was here 81 birthday. Then the uncles and Matt got out the strings again to play music for grandpa. It really makes me sad that this was the last time that I would see him alive. Grandpa sadly died last Thursday. Here is the ironic thing. I was born November 1, which is my grandparents wedding anniversary. Grandpa died on August 14 which is my wedding anniversary. The funeral is today at eleven, mountain time. My mom is sending me the video that was put together of pictures of my grandparents throughout the years. I have so many wonderful memories of my grandpa. When I was a kid I always thought that he was secretly Santa because he had a belly just like him. My grandparents have always lived in this tiny one bedroom( raising four boys mind you) house on top of a hill looking out over Rapid City. The view is wonderful. Grandpa loved to sing. He would record himself singing and give it to all his kids and grand kids. I did love to here him sing. I tried to find one of his tapes so I could put a sample on for all to hear but of course I can not find one. I am really going to miss my grandpa.
COSI
I just received my Parents magazine in the mail. I absolutely love it. It is always filled with great info, funny stories and applicable topics. Well, towards the back there was an article on the best science centers in the U.S. Guess what? COSI was their number one pick. I thought that was so cool. I figured it would make the list some where, but number one? Wow! I do feel blessed to have this wonderful resource just down the street. Check it out, the article and COSI.

Four Wonderful Years
Four years ago today Scott and I were married. It has been a wonderful four years. It is amazing to think about all that has happened in four years. We have moved three times, had two children, finished medical school, started residency, bought a house and collected many cherished memories. I could not ask for a better husband in Scott. He is my rock , my compass in the storm and my best friend. I love him more and more each day. I am so proud to be his wife and mother to his children. I am looking forward to spending the next 60+ years with him. Happy Anniversary, Scott! I love You!!

Happy Anniversary!
Happy Happy Anniversary to my parents. Today is their 35th wedding anniversary. Wow!! I have been trying to come up with something witty to say in celebration but all I can think of is of how grateful I am that my parents are still together. You never really appreciate things until you yourself have walked along the same path. I never really appreciated the fact that my parents were together until I was married and realized what hard work it is. Marriage isn't all sweet smelling roses and then you throw kids in the mix and it is a whole new ball game. I remember when I was a kid how much my parents sacrificed for us kids. I am so thankful for the love and support they have given us our entire lives. I am also thankful for the role models that they are. When times got tough (and I know they did) they stuck with it. After all, kids grow up and move on and you are left with each other. You both were the foundation of our family and that has taught me to be the same for mine. You are more than just Mom and Dad or Husband and Wife, you are best friends. You enjoy each others company and after all these years you still are completely in love. Thanks Mom and Dad. Happy Anniversary. I love you both so much.
Balloons
Saturday evening we went to Grove City for the Balloon Glow at Dusk. It was held at Beulah Park. Scott saw an advertisement for it last week so we thought we would check it out. We really didn't know too much about it. What we thought we were going to was all wrong. First, we had no idea it was such a huge event. There were thousands in attendance. They had a live band, a Beatles cover band that was pretty good, actually. Second, we had no idea that Beulah Park was a race track. We thought that it was a park with play equipment and picnic tables. Third we had no idea that it was a balloon launch that was going to be at dusk (hence the name). We got to the park way to early. There was at least two hours to go before dusk. We thought it would be just a bunch of hot air balloons filling up and taking of whenever. Well it was too windy for the balloons to go up in the air and fly. We did get to see them fill up and go a few feet up but nothing spectacular. After seeing four balloons we decided to call it a night and try to beat the crowd to the parking lot. There were at least another four or five more balloons that were setting up to fill but we wanted to go get some ice cream. We went to Dairy Queen and enjoyed some yummy treats. The kids were exhausted. After a bath and books both kids slept all night long.
