What a Week!!

We had a very very busy week. Scott's mom, dad, sister and her family came into town last week. Scott's 30th birthday was on the 5th. Let's see what did we do. We went to the zoo. Had a great time. The zoo was packed because it was Labor Day weekend. Calli and Gavin (niece and nephew) liked the reptile building. I have never been in that building before and it was so cool. We saw a blue iguana from the Cayman Islands, cobra snakes, a whole bunch of weird looking turtles, blue frogs and everything in between. We went on the carousel. This was Grisham's first ride and he did not want to sit on a horse. So Scott and Grisham sat on a bench. We went to see the gorillas. Not too many outside but the indoor exhibit was full. We even got to see a worker signing with one of the gorillas. Last but not least we went to see the aquarium. Grisham's favorite.
Monday morning my father in-law, Jay, woke up not feeling well. After sleeping for almost two days and one trip to the ER we found out that he had an infection in his foot. After being on antibiotics for 24 hrs he felt much better.
One evening we went to Dave and Buster's. We told Cali and Gavin it was like Chuck E Cheese on steroids. They had a blast and both agreed that it was so much better than Chuck E Cheese.
Thursday Scott was on call at Children's hospital so we got some yummy KFC and went down town to see him. He will be so happy to be finished with this rotation. Friday and Saturday were spent getting ready for the big birthday party.
Saturday night we had a birthday party for Scott. He turned the big 3-0. It was great. We had a nice turn out. Thanks to all who came. Jay grilled burgers, hot dogs and brats. Betty, mother in-law, made the cakes and Dan, brother in-law, decorated them. The party was a hit. We even surprised Scott with spraying him with silly string. He did not see that one coming.
We had a great week with the family. They left early Sunday morning. Now it is time to get back into our regular schedule. I had a new baby start last week. His name is Brenner and he is nine weeks old. He is a great baby. So far so good. I think he is going to make a great addition to our little circle of playmates.
