Merry Christmas

We decided to open gifts on Christmas Eve this year. Scott has to round on Christmas morning which can take until mid afternoon sometimes and I have the Grubes here all day. Christmas Eve was the only chance to open them with the kids. After the kids had a bath the kids and I went up to our room while Scott went to the basement to get all the presents. And guess what!! We were first on Santa's list this year. He arrived a little early (wink, wink). Grisham was super happy to see a new motorcycle from grandma and papa A. He sat on it for a few minutes and then realized there were a few more presents to open. He went through them all so fast he ended up helping Genevieve, Daddy and me open ours. Grisham got clothes and game from Auntie Sarah and Uncle Joshua, a bike, books, a red racer car, and a work bench with tools from Santa. Genevieve got Fancy Nancy doll and clothes from Auntie Sarah and Uncle Joshua, ponies, water baby, Mr and Mrs Potato Head from Santa, books and a teddy bear. We want to thank our families for all of their wonderful gifts. You are all so very thoughtful. Now the living room is an endless mess with all the new toys.
On Christmas day I had the Grubes so it seemed like a normal work day. The kids played with the new toys and both Grisham and Genevieve did a great job sharing with Sophia. Scott went in at normal time to round but was home by 9. That was a wonderful Christmas present in itself. It was a very laid back morning. We were all in our jammies on until 10ish. The Grubes were picked up around 2:30 and then we headed of the Michelle and Alan's house for dinner. I must say how wonderful it was not to cook a huge meal. I made my butter horns on Christmas Eve and that was it. Alan made this beautiful 25lb turkey. It was so pretty it should have been in a magazine!! We were one of the first families to arrive but the house was soon full of people. I believe they had around twenty guests. Grisham had a ton of friends to play with and shared a few of his new racer cars with them. By the time the party wrapped up(around 6) I was so tired and had a pounding headache. We enjoyed the wonderful company and amazing food. As soon as we got home we all had jammies back on and asleep by 9. It was a very Merry Christmas:)

High Risk Dr Appointment

All is well in the womb!! The high risk OB says the baby looks great and so does the placenta. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the function of the placenta and the baby's growth is above average. Last Friday at my regular OB appointment Carolyn was measured. Her weight was around 4.8 lbs. Now she weighs around 5.6 lbs!! I should say there is nothing wrong with her growth. At this rate she is going to be bigger than Grisham. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. I could feel your love and concern. Thank you Ashli for watching the troops while I went to the dr. I could not make it through this pregnancy without all your love and support. Thanks so much friends. Now just a few more weeks and a few dozen more dr's appointment (sigh) and I will have reached the finish line.

Another Conversation

Another fine conversation with Grisham.
G-man- Where are my parents? Me- I am right here and daddy is at work. G-man- No!! You're not a parent, you're mommy!!

Arrrrr!! Greg's 5th Birthday

Today was Greg's birthday party. It is hard to believe he is 5!! The party was held at The World of Bounce. So much fun. Grisham spent most of his time going down the smaller slide. Genevieve was content with running around playing with the padded shapes. I must say she was quite clingy this afternoon. She didn't even want to try something that would take her away from me. There was this really tall slide that Grisham would not go near but I got some pictures of Greg and Hannah going down. After playtime we went to the party room. Greg's party was Pirate theme. Mary found some amazing decorations. The plates, napkins and masks were awesome. We had pizza and pretzels, fishy crackers and cupcakes. After everyone was all done eating Greg opened his presents. He got to sit in this amazing Birthday Boy throne. Grisham did such a good job handling the present part. We have had issues with jealousy when presents are opened. He did a much better job and seemed very happy for Greg. Both kids are so tired. Grisham did not nap and Genevieve barely got one so after we take dinner to daddy tonight I think it will be an early bedtime for them both. Happy Birthday Greg!!

Snow Day!!

We got some measurable snow today. It was so pretty but I don't expect it to stay long. It never does. The kids wanted to go play first thing this morning. I bundled them up in their new winter coats and off they went. Genevieve wasn't so sure about it and lasted maybe 10 minutes. Grisham was having a blast but as soon as his mitten got wet he was ready to come in.

Another Doctor's Appointment

I went to the OB this morning for another ultrasound and check up. Thanks Autumm for watching the kids for me!! The appointment went well and of course I was happy to see my baby once again. She is doing well. Around 4.8 lbs and still in the 50 percentile. However, my doctor wants me to see the high risk OB next week. Dr. Roncone is concerned about the placenta. We have been keeping a close eye on this one particular spot that could be fibrous material. The spot looks about the same but now the placenta is looking thick and hazy. Not exactly sure what all that means but she would be more comfortable consulting the high risk Dr. I guess worst case scenario would be early delivery but I am a few days shy of being 33 weeks. All is completely developed. She would just be small when born. I guess we will know more next week after the appointment. I am surprisingly ok with the situation. I trust my doctor completely but most of all I trust in God. This is His plan and I know all will work out according to His will. My baby could not be in better hands.

Christmas Party

Last night was the Physician Wives Christmas Party. It was held at Graystone Wine Cellar downtown Columbus. Appetizers, dinner and dessert plus open bar. Scott and I sat with my friend Erin, her husband John and Nita Smith. My friend Mary and her husband Eric were there but sat at another table. I must say that Mary looked absolutely amazing last night. I will have to borrow some of her pictures since I didn't take as many pictures as I should have. Blame it on the pesky heels I decided to wear. This was our "president" Kelly Bull's last event to plan. She did an amazing job as usual. Kelly and her husband Patrick will be moving this summer. I believe Keren is going to be taking over Kelly's presidential role. Good luck Keren!!! We ended the evening kind of early. I was anxious to get home to see how the kids were. Genevieve fell and hit her face on a door jam and was pretty sore and cranky. Grisham has become a little difficult to put to bed at night. It was another successful date night for us. I must say were have been spoiled this month with four date nights. We consider it lucky if we get one so this was an amazing month.
