What a Ham!

Grisham loves to play with these Harry Potter glasses when he is in the tub. He looks so silly. I had to get a picture of this sight.
One morning while eating breakfast Grisham decided to put on mommy's winter hat. He wore it the whole time he was at the table.
Gotta love play groups. This play group was held at Grove City church of the Nazarene. They have this amazing 3 or 4 story play maze. See picture. Grisham is still a little to small to get inside and not get stuck so he mainly played in this taxi cab. He had a great time. I think we will have to go back on our own someday if I have spare time. Yah right!!!

Big Belly

For those who have been asking for a belly picture. Here you go. Please excuse the bad hair and no makeup. I wish Scott would have said something. I am 31 weeks preggers in the photo. I can't believe that I am going to get bigger. I don't think my skin will stretch any more.

Haircut

Last week Grisham got a much needed haircut. We go to a great little kids shop called Cookie Cutters. Its is so fun for Grisham. They have a slide and the kids can pick a video to watch while getting a haircut. Grisham sat in the fire truck this time.

Good Dog

We have such great dogs. They put up with Grisham's two year old behavior so well. If the dogs are on the floor Grisham always has to sit on them. If they are on the couch Grisham always has to sit on them.

Test Results

The test results finally came back. I am immune to the Parvo Virus. So there is no danger to me and the baby. Thank you all for your prayers and words of comfort.

Funny Boy

Grisham's Grandpa and Grandma Amerson got him a little Power Wheels 4x4 for Christmas. My mom wanted him to be safe while he rode it so they added protective gear. I don't know about Grisham being safe while on the 4x4 but he sure is safe while playing around the house.

Our Hairy Kids

Grisham and I were going through some old pictures last night and I came across this photo of our two labs. I thought that since they are most definitely apart of our family they should also be on the blog. Janey is the yellow lab and she is seven years old. I got her when I was at Iowa State University. Carly is the black Lab and she is five years old. Scott and I got her when we were engaged to be married. We love our dogs so much. They really do make family life better. Janey is the queen. She has this regalness to her. She loves to have her armpits and neck scratched and she will be your best friend if you will give her a face massage. Carly is the baby and no matter how many kids we have she will always be that. She loves to sit in your lap and get as close to you as possible. Scott loves to hold her like a baby and rock her in the recliner. It is quite a sight. A funny quirk about Carly. She only sneezes when she is lying on her back. I could go on and on about the things I love about our dogs. They are the best!!

New Van!

Well, we did it again. We traded in our Oldsmobile. Scott went out Saturday morning to get an oil change on the van. He calls me and asks if I like the Ford Edge. He was going to crunch the numbers and call me back. Two hours later he calls and said that he was on his way home with my new 2007 Kia Sedona. It is so nice. Silver with gray interior. The best part is that there is 150 miles on it and it's warrented until 100,000 miles. Scott and I have been talking about doing something with the van. It seems that we are having something fixed on it all the time. Just this last week the check engine light and airbag light came on. It is $100 to get it diagnosed. We have heard only great things about Kias. Scott really is happy because he knows that we will be very safe out on the road. Five Star crash rate and airbags line the interior. February has been a very expensive month for us. Good thing we have one weekend left and Scott is working it! No more big purchases.

Test Results

I just talk to the nurse from the doctor's office and the Parvo test results won't be in until Monday. So until then...

Poor Little Mister

Poor little mister Grisham is sick. He has had a runny nose for a few days now but yesterday he spiked a fever of 103.2. First of all he decided to get up at 4:00 in the morning then again at 5:30. He was extra whinny and crabby all morning long. Around 11:00 in the morning he just would not let me be. He wanted to cuddle with mommy. Just my luck little Even also needed a bottle and a diaper change. So I got Grisham settled in the recliner and tended to Evan. By the time I put Evan to fed Grisham was slouched over in the chair asleep. When he woke from his early nap his temp was 101.7. So I gave him Tylenol. A few hours later he was back to being his crabby self. I checked his temp again and yikes it spiked to 103.2. Time for Motrin. I have been worried about another ear infection. Thankfully I was able to get a script for antibiotics. Well while I was out getting the medicine, Scott was at home doing some research. When I got home He said we need to talk. This always freaks me out. Jennie Knapp (Evan's mommy) called and she was worried that Grisham might have Parvo B19 Syndrome. Sounds scary to me don't you think. Well its turns out that its not so scary for Grisham but more so for me and the baby. The tell tail sign of Parvo is the bright red checks and Grishams cheeks look like they were on fire. Scott called my OB and she wanted me to come in to the office first thing this morning to get a blood draw. If I have been exposed to it, Parvo can cause sudden death to the unborn baby. The blood draw can detect the Parvo virus. If the results come back positive I will receive weekly ultrasounds. Scott didn't go into to much if the test was positive. He said my risk was extreamly low. Its more dangerous if the baby is 20 weeks or less. I am now 30 weeks so he is not to worried but cautious. So I went to the doctor this morning and had the blood draw. The results should be back later today. I will post the results as soon as I hear from the doctor. Please keep my baby in your prayers.

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy V Day everyone. I just wanted to share a few pictures with you. Yesterday was the playgroups valentines day party and Mary had her camera. Thanks again Mary for providing us with great photos of the kids. One picture is of me and Grisham. I could not get him to smile at the right moment. Another is of Grisham making his special V day gift bag and then him showing mommy what a great job he did. He loves to give high fives! Finally here is a picture of sweet Sophia. She has such a pretty smile. We had a great time at playgroup.

Weekends!

Sometimes I wish that everyday could be a weekend day. Especially weekend days that Scott does not have to work. These past two weekends have been awesome. The weekend before last we traded Scott's Chevy Cavalier for a 2006 Ford Fusion. It is so nice. The Cavalier was becoming to high maintenance. It seemed every time we turned around something needed to be fixed so we decided to go and look. Funny thing is when Scott says lets go look we always come home with something. Well, we came home with a silver, black interior, five body trunk new to us car. I wish we could put a picture up so everyone can see it but I have misplaced the cords to hook up the camera to the computer. So sorry! That weekend we also went over to Eric and Mary's house to watch the super bowl game. We always have so much fun with them. Greg and Grisham play well together and I know that Leah and our little girl will be friends too.
This last weekend was nice. Thankfully we didn't spend as much money! We decided that the more weekends Scott works the less we spend. But if Scott has the weekend off we usually end up spending quite a bit. I went to my water aerobics class Saturday morning and then Grisham and I went and bought some clothes for the baby. I love the second hand shops. Your dollar can really stretch. Later that day Scott was able to go play poker. I can't even remember the last time he got together with the guys to play poker. He got second place. Most important he got to relax and have fun. Yesterday we stayed home and watched movies. It was way way to cold to go anywhere and Grisham was being and major crab. He has a cold so he is never happy when he has a runny nose. The weekends always go so fast when we have good family time. I look forward to them and cherish every moment.

Baby!

Hi everyone. I had another doctors appointment this morning. I gained one pound. My measurements of my tummy are great. In fact I measure at almost 31 weeks and I am just 29 weeks along. This may be a bigger baby than Grisham. Dr. Grogg said that I shouldn't worry about the weight gain. I look good and so does the baby. After I saw the doctor I had an ultrasound. I did have the sex of the baby confirmed. It is a girl. She has grown so much since the last ultrasound. We couldn't get a good view of her face. She is head down now and facing my spine so the tech could not get a peek at her face. Oh well! All looked well. I am so excited. My mom is coming out next month during spring break to help me get the baby's room ready. I don't know if I can wait that long. I am just so so excited. I also want to go shopping for all of her clothes. I could do some serious damage to our bank account if I am not mindful. I just need to pace myself. Like I said I am just so excited.
